Most people are not very familiar with Hong Kong’s beaches. Most people do not know of the huge number of beaches of the territory, with more than two hundred islands, is blessed with. Make sure that you remember to apply sun screen lotion, that too of great amount of PF factor, before heading to the of beaches hot Hong Kong city. Also, no beach in Hong Kong allows nudism, so make sure that you do not get caught by the long arm of the law if you peel your clothes off.
1. Shek O Beach . . .
Shek O Beach is located at the south of Hong Kong Island and is popular with city travellers’. The water quality is quite excellent and is close to the Big Wave Bay with the best surfing in the territory. The facilities here are also excellent. Take the Minibus No 9 from Shau Kei Wan MTR stn.
2. Deepwater Bay Beach . . .
Probably the most popular beach in Hong Kong, Deep Water Bay is close to the Central. The easy accessibility of the beach is more responsible for its popularity, rather than any great quality. The water quality is also poor because of it being so closely situated to the city. The facilities are excellent though, with a host of amenities such as restaurants, snack stalls, life guards, changing rooms and more. Take the Bus 6 or 6X from Central.
3. Sai Kung Beach . . .
Sai Kung beach is a superb location if you are a day tripper. The beach can be easily accessed as it is situated at the eastern portion of the New Territories. The water quality is excellent and is situated a good distance from Hong Kong island, which is what is responsible for keeping the water clean. There are a good number of facilities available. There is no death of quality. If you are interested in water sports, there are a host of options available in the beach, such as wind surfing, kayaking and more. The Sai Kung sail club is close by. Take Bus number 92 from Diamond Hill MTR in Kowloon.
